Hermès is renowned for transforming silk scarves into visual vessels of culture, mythology, and craftsmanship. Each design functions not only as a fashion object, but as a narrative surface—where history, symbolism, and ornament coexist.
This project explores how illustrated silk scarves can evolve beyond static form, becoming immersive narrative spaces through motion.
The concept centers on translating mythological storytelling into layered illustration and subtle animation. Drawing inspiration from ancient narratives and symbolic feminine figures, the scarf is treated as a compositional stage rather than a flat image. All visual elements including characters, ornamental frames, florals, and textures were fully illustrated and constructed from the ground up to support narrative sequencing through motion.
Rather than emphasizing spectacle, the animation focuses on atmosphere, materiality, and emotional continuity. By integrating illustration and motion as a unified process, the project positions the silk scarf as a living narrative artifact—situated between fashion, myth, and visual storytelling.
